2012 Inspiration: “We were all about lace. Totally romantic, ethereal, and very classic Anne Barge this season. My inspiration for this collection comes from a historical take on texture.”  www.annebarge.com

JUNKO YOSHIOKA Junko Yoshioka redefines wedding glamour with her stunning collection of lavish contemporary gowns that stray from traditional bridal standards. Junko Yoshioka studied fashion design at one of the most prestigious schools in Japan. Her signature elegant and modern designs are often embellished with avant garde materials such as wools and leathers. The juxtaposition of unlikely fabrics with elegant silk and satin makes for an unexpected and beautiful pairing.

Junko’s inventive design sense was highly revered by some of Italy’s top fashion houses to create her “neo-classic” RTW looks for the European market. Junko Yoshioka’s feminine silhouettes in bridal and evening wear can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue, Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier and at the Junko Yoshioka exclusive bridal boutique in Manhattan.

Junko Yoshioka's spring 2013 Bridal Collection collection was inspired by the fluttering feathers of spring with the collection of gowns echoeing nature with lightly textured fabrics, appliquéd lace details and an abundance of layering creating modern gowns with movement and grace. Classic shapes were enhanced by exquisite fabric choices and embellishments. Lace is coupled with intricate bead work and introduced through blush tone gowns.  www.junkoyoshioka.com

CLAIRE PETTIBONE Windsor Rose China’ 2012 inspiration: “My grandmother was quite the 1920’s bohemian…her first husband was a rum-runner during prohibition, and was mysteriously killed in a “motorcycle” accident. She never talked about him, and I was a grown woman when my mom shared the scandal that my grandpa (her father) was not grandma’s first love. I’ve been thinking about Anna Mae, and looking at the photos of her second wedding that we all thought was her first. She wore a beautiful mauve scalloped silk dress with a velvet sash at the hip, round spectacles and stylish Mary Jane’s. Grandma has long passed, but I have her wedding dress, the intricate embroidered linens she made by hand, her gold rimmed china with delicate painted roses…and a good dose of her free spirit.  The sweet and simple details of our heirlooms: lace linens, golden lockets, fine china, don’t they make lovely inspiration for a wedding dress?”  www.clairepettibone.com

ANGEL RIVERA Angel Rivera Couture's exquisite bridal and evening wear collections offer an elegant flair, fit for any contemporary bride-to-be or upscale event. His line exudes sophistication by creating dramatic sweeping silhouettes while flattering the female figure. Angel Rivera’s opulent designs perfectly combine fashion forward notions with traditional timeless beauty.

“My inspiration for the Victoria Collection is the modern day princess. The collection is all hand-crafted from imported tulles, satins, tissue taffeta, and Italian gazar.”  www.angelriveracouture.com

BLEU GARTERS Bleu Garters is known for their Hand-sewn custom garters incorporating vintage laces and fine silks. Bleu Garters began with a simple idea from fashion designer Jaime Lawson… to give the poor, rejected garter a makeover, transforming it from a bridal afterthought into a beautiful keepsake that can be passed on for generations. A garter by Bleu adorns the leg like a piece of jewelry. Brides and Lingerie Lovers alike can pick a garter of the highest quality to truly complement their style. Handcrafted in the U.S.A. from fine silks and antique laces, Bleu Garters also make great bridesmaid gifts; choose colors or styles to coordinate with the Bride.

“A big trend I'm noticing is brides being more adventurous with color, and not sticking to white/ivory/light blue.  Don't get me wrong, the classics are still the most popular garters, but brides have also been ordering their favorite bright colors, as well as the black floral lace garters for their wedding day!”  -Bleu Garters designer Jaime Lawson  www.bleugarters.com
