I specialize in small upscale catering events and private chef services. I like to get into the mindset and expectations of the client for the event so I can create and customize a menu that exceeds their standards, but stays within price points. Kuoha Culinary prides itself in being one of the only catering companies that has one chef handle all facets of food production from start to finish and is on-site at all events handling food personally to ensure quality food, service, and guest satisfaction. At the end of the day the client needs to be happy with the service I provide, if not I cannot accept pay for a job that isn't done well. I am all about getting the "Wow" from my clients.
Chef Ed Kuoha's introduction to the world of culinary arts began over 20 years ago when he attended the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapiolani Community College. Along the way he was exposed to various forms and styles in the culinary field with stops at the luxurious landmark Halekulani Hotel, opening culinary team for MAC 24-7 at The Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel, Oceanarium Restaurant at The Pacific Beach Hotel, and Ko'olau Ballrooms in Kaneohe (where he met his wife).
In 2010 Chef Ed was recruited as an opening Sous Chef for Morimoto Waikiki where he received hands on training from Iron Chef Morimoto in the preparation and execution of his dishes. That experience ignited a spark in Chef Ed that helped shape his culinary vision moving forward and reaffirm his career choice.
These experiences combined with his unrelenting drive for perfection, innovative outlook on creating dishes, and respect for ingredients set the foundation for his role as the Chef for Kuoha Culinary.
